Strombecker

In the late 1950's, Strombeck and Becker owned the Dowst Manufacturing Company, maker of the Toosietoy die cast cars. The newly formed company, now renamed Strombecker, took after the Scalextric system from England and bettered it with more efficient and faster, better handling cars. In 1965 they took the commercial plunge and introduced a series of beautiful but very low priced kits using Igarashi/Hitachi "Hemi" motors in both the 1/24 and 1/32 scale. Plenty of them survived and are still reasonably priced. While their visual quality is far from that of the Cox or Monogram kits, they stand on their own.
