MRRC MC0051 Porsche 910 launch model 1967

This car uses the MRRC/Monogram Sebring chassis. The Sebring chassis is an excellent universal 1/32 scale chassis for use with body kits and for kitbashig and scratchbuilding projects. It can be set up to handle well in both magnet and non-magnet racing. It has an adjustable wheelbase and is compact enough to fit almost any sports car, GT, or sedan body and to allow the use of wide wheels ad tires within even a relatively modest body width.

MRRC and Monogram cars using the Sebring chassis come with a variety of different wheels and tires. All of them use the same “slimline” motor which provides more than enough power for most home and club racing. They are ideal “donor cars” to provide a complete running chassis for the body of your choice at a cost often lower than purchasing the needed components separately.

Scalextric C3741 Ford XC Falcon – 1978 Bathurst 1000

Race: 1978 Hardie-Ferodo 1000

Driver: Allan Moffat & Jacky Ickx

Pushing for more television time, the 1978 Hardie-Ferodo 1000 saw the introduction of the Hardies Heroes Top 10 runoff for pole position. Rain in the morning meant the track was damp during the first run, which was certainly reflected in the times. That was until Allan Moffat went out and, ignoring the puddles, ran a time six seconds faster than anyone else (while hitting 159 mph on Conrod Straight).

Moffat was eventually pushed back to third and, unfortunately, the race didn’t go as planned. Allan was forced to retire on lap 81, allowing rival Peter Brock to take the victory.

Scalextric C3696 Legends Ford XY GT-HO Falcon, 1972 Bathurst

Rain was very much the theme for the 1972 Bathurst. John Goss sat behind the wheel of the Ford Falcon and, in practice, set the fastest lap time before blowing an engine. On the race day, with the engine changed, the rain continued to pour, which was unfortunate for the Falcons as they were not suited to driving in wet conditions. As the rain eased a dry line started to appear. Goss pushed the Falcon to its limit and started to close the gap to the cars ahead. Luck though, was not on Goss’s or the Falcon’s side when on lap 24 the strain on the car got too much and the engine blew for a second time.

Scalextric C3758 Holden A9X Torana, 1978 Hardie-Ferodo 1000

Driver: Jack Brabham & Brian Muir

Jack Brabham qualified for his only top 10 shootout in this Holden A9X Torana at the Hardie-Ferodo 1000 in 1978. In fact, the Brabham name would not appear in another Bathurst Top 10 runoff until his son David qualified in the same position as his father (8th) in 1993.

In the race itself, Jack Brabham and Brian Muir finished 6th, completing 153 laps.

Four brand-new Carrera cars here so you can order them right now. The Mercedes GT3 and one of the 365P2 Ferraris are available as either analog or Digital 132 (which will run on any brand of analog track but only on Carrera digital).

Carrera 27531 Mercedes-AMG GT3 “No. 16″

Supreme standard racing technology and spectacular designs: The Mercedes AMG GT3 is the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance automobile breed. The 2016 car is raring to race to victory with its 6.3-litre, V8 induction engine from its predecessor – the GT3 SLS. The “Panamericana” cooler grille is an immediate eye-catcher. The shape, using vertical chrome struts, is immediately reminiscent of the 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL racing car that won the famous long-distance race across Mexico.

Carrera 27536 Ferrari 365 P2 “North American Racing Team, No. 18″

A true legend and a “must-have” for fans: The Ferrari 365 P2. In 1965 it was considered the ultimate sportscar with its 4.4-litre, V12 engine. The North American Racing Team celebrated several notable successes with the Ferrari with driving legends such as Jochen Rindt, Masten Gregory and Ed Hugus at the helm. In recollection of the age of the ‘Cobra-Ferrari Wars’ in the 1960s, the Ferrari is a perfect partner for the Shelby Cobra.

Carrera 30775 Ferrari 365 P2 “No.01″, Winner Kyalami 9h 1965

What a great time it was when the legendary British racing drivers David Piper and Richard Atwood claimed victory in the Kyalami 9-hour race! Their victorious ride, the Ferrari 365 P2, has also become a legend in its own right. In 1965 the juicy green classic with its 4.4-litre, V12 engine was considered the ultimate sports car. While filming for “Le Mans” Piper crashed in his Porsche and lost part of his leg. However, Piper could never kick the racing habit and being a motor racing legend he saw no reason to take it easier: To this day David Piper has remained a rock-solid Ferrari enthusiast, running his own small-scale workshop in Surrey in which he has already built three complete Ferrari 330P4 replicas.

The Carrera DIGITAL 132 Ferrari 365 P2 slotcar impresses with front, rear and brake lights, and faithfully reproduced details. This Carrera car can be individually coded; it’s digitally controllable and guarantees hours of racing fun.

We found a few of these out-of-production Scalextric modern-era GT3-class Audi R8s and they are both on special sale for a limited time.

Scalextric C3045 Audi R8, LMS GT3 (C)

Fully detailed livery on a super-resistant body fitted with durable wing mirrors and clear plastic light lenses front and rear. The intended benefit is to keep the car in its original fast, light-weight trim for speed and durability. This Digital Plug Ready (DPR) car can be converted for use with the Scalextric Digital range in less than sixty seconds using the C8515 Digital Plug. The car features Magnatraction™ and easy change pick-ups. The lightweight and durable body is designed to withstand the knocks of full impact endurance racing.

History:
