Scalextric C3694A British Touring Car Champs 2014& 2015 BMW 125 Series 1 &Honda Civic

The 2014 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) was decided on the last day of racing at the famous Brands Hatch Circuit in Kent, UK. Driver Colin Turkington, in his eBay Motors BMW, had to overcome the challenge put forward by MG’s Jason Plato, who just happened to be the most successful BTCC driver in history! The impressive one two from Plato and Tordoff wasn’t enough as Turkington secured the victory.

The 2015 BTCC season ended with Scottish driver Gordon Shedden claiming the title in dramatic fashion after one of the most exciting races of the season. In front of a record crowd of 42,000, the Honda Yuasa Racing driver had to finish the race in 6th place to secure the title. Working his way through the pack from 19th position, Shedden managed to grab enough points to push race winner Jason Plato into second place overall. The exhilarating end to the race was a fantastic way to see out another great season and really exemplifies the high octane racing that is typical in the BTCC.

Scalextric C3654 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L88

June 15-16, 1974: Le Mans 24 Hours. Car no.51 was driven by French drivers Henri Greder and Marie-Claude Charmasson. No.51 Chevrolet Corvette was powered by a Chevrolet 7.0L V8. 253 laps were completed. The fastest Porsche Carrera now qualified nearly 10 seconds a lap faster, and the Ferrari Daytona 7 seconds faster than Greder/Beaumont. At mid race, the Corvette was in 27th position overall, while the first Carrera was 5th and the Ferrari Daytona 6th. Greder/Beaumont finished in 18th place after ignition, water pump and battery problems, as well as the loss of 1st and 2nd gear. With a 10th in the GT class finish, they were nearly 600 kms behind the class leader Grandet/Bardini with their 365 GTB4 who finished 5th. The car was sold in the US in 1975, #194679S706401 later came back to France, where its owner enters it from time to time for historic events. It still has the dark blue paint job with the Travelers Cheque and #51. Henri Greder has had the opportunity to drive with his old racer on several occasions, such as “Le Mans Classic”, and “Tour Auto Historique”.

Scalextric C3593A Mercedes 2014 F1 Lewis Hamilton-Limited Edition

Limited Edition: 3,000

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team unveiled the F1 W05, its 2014 challenger, at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. Ahead of the first morning of official winter testing, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton took the wraps off the first all-new Silver Arrow to hit the track since 1954. Designed from the ground up as an integrated project between the Mercedes-Benz teams based at Brackley and Brixworth, this new car marks an historic milestone in a landmark year when Mercedes-Benz celebrates 120 years of Motorsport and the 80th anniversary of the Silver Arrows.

Lewis Hamilton began his racing career in karting in 1993 at the age of 8 and quickly began winning races and Cadet class championships. Hamilton continued his progress in Formula A and became European Champion in 2000 with maximum points. His team mate was Nico Rosberg who would later drive for the Williams and Mercedes teams in Formula One; they would later team up again for Mercedes in 2013. In his first season in Formula One, Hamilton set numerous records, while finishing second in the 2007 Formula One Championship, just one point behind Kimi Räikkönen. He won the World Championship the following season. He is the only driver on the current grid to have won at least one race in each season he has competed in to date, with McLaren from 2007 until 2012, and with Mercedes since 2013. Mercedes won the Formula One Constructors’ Championship in 2014 and Lewis Hamilton drove the No.44 car home to take a Championship win with eleven 1st place finishes and, excepting retirements, was always on the podium.

Scalextric C2917 Ford GT40 Mk II, LeMans 1966 (C)

1/32 scale slot car, ready to run on all 1/32 and 1/24 scale non-digital tracks. Chassis XGT-2, a MKII GT40, was driven by one of the most famous F1 and sports car drivers of the era – Graham Hill. This model of the car pays tribute to the driving ace with a driver figure likeness of the man himself – complete with his trademark moustache.

Hill’s teammate was supposed to have been Dr. Dick Thompson, but he was disqualified by the French officials for an obscure infraction in practice. Ford suddenly had to scramble for a driver at the last minute and came up with Brian Muir. Muir had never raced at night, never driven anything remotely as fast as the Ford Mk. II, and had never raced at LeMans, but he was available, so he was duly deputized into the team for the event and performed well until the car expired.

You can assemble this 1/32 scale Ferrari GTO LM from a kit in a few hours using simple hand tools. There are full reports on the prototypes’ racing background, specifications and the performance and details of the 1/32 scale models of the 1950 Ford Tudor NASCAR (Grand National), 1959 Austin Healey “Bugeye” Sprite, 1956 Jaguar XK 140 coupe, 1964 Ferrari GTO LM and 2009 Lola-Aston Martin DBR1-2 LeMans and 1968 Lotus 49B and Ferrari 312 T4 Formula 1 cars. There are step-by-step techniques to connect wiring and provide lap counting and timing on your own plastic or wood racetrack. There are plans so you can assemble a 4-Lane Blue King Raceway on a 16 x 24-foot tabletop and on a 5 x 9-foot ping-pong tabletop using snap-together plastic track.

Have you seen this?

The Ultimate Slot Car Track?

It might be a bit early to start talking about Christmas, but check this out… The 2014 Neiman Marcus Christmas Catalog is featuring an amazing Slot Car Track that you can have for a mere $300,000. It’s huge, it detailed, it’s pretty awesome!

The Slot Mods USA Ultimate Slot Car Raceway is billed as a 100% authentic 1:32 scale model that comes with scenic elements including handcrafted iconic structures, facades, period slot cars, spectators, pit crews, streetlights, foliage, and more. The track also has integrated video cameras which capture the action and show it on “mini” display screens.

Neiman Marcus will ship your little corner of slot car heaven anywhere in the world, but shipping isn’t included in the $300,000 price tag.  But wait there’s more, you can add “white glove installation” for an additional cost.

Look for the $50,000 Slot Mods demo track at the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows at these locations:

  • Seattle, WA – Nov 21-Nov 23
