Five more Scalextric cars from the 2016 releases are here including the champion Mercedes F1 team.

Scalextric C3654 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L88

June 15-16, 1974: Le Mans 24 Hours. Car no.51 was driven by French drivers Henri Greder and Marie-Claude Charmasson. No.51 Chevrolet Corvette was powered by a Chevrolet 7.0L V8. 253 laps were completed. The fastest Porsche Carrera now qualified nearly 10 seconds a lap faster, and the Ferrari Daytona 7 seconds faster than Greder/Beaumont. At mid race, the Corvette was in 27th position overall, while the first Carrera was 5th and the Ferrari Daytona 6th. Greder/Beaumont finished in 18th place after ignition, water pump and battery problems, as well as the loss of 1st and 2nd gear. With a 10th in the GT class finish, they were nearly 600 kms behind the class leader Grandet/Bardini with their 365 GTB4 who finished 5th. The car was sold in the US in 1975, #194679S706401 later came back to France, where its owner enters it from time to time for historic events. It still has the dark blue paint job with the Travelers Cheque and #51. Henri Greder has had the opportunity to drive with his old racer on several occasions, such as “Le Mans Classic”, and “Tour Auto Historique”.

Scalextric C3593A Mercedes 2014 F1 Lewis Hamilton-Limited Edition

Limited Edition: 3,000

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team unveiled the F1 W05, its 2014 challenger, at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. Ahead of the first morning of official winter testing, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton took the wraps off the first all-new Silver Arrow to hit the track since 1954. Designed from the ground up as an integrated project between the Mercedes-Benz teams based at Brackley and Brixworth, this new car marks an historic milestone in a landmark year when Mercedes-Benz celebrates 120 years of Motorsport and the 80th anniversary of the Silver Arrows.

Lewis Hamilton began his racing career in karting in 1993 at the age of 8 and quickly began winning races and Cadet class championships. Hamilton continued his progress in Formula A and became European Champion in 2000 with maximum points. His team mate was Nico Rosberg who would later drive for the Williams and Mercedes teams in Formula One; they would later team up again for Mercedes in 2013. In his first season in Formula One, Hamilton set numerous records, while finishing second in the 2007 Formula One Championship, just one point behind Kimi Räikkönen. He won the World Championship the following season. He is the only driver on the current grid to have won at least one race in each season he has competed in to date, with McLaren from 2007 until 2012, and with Mercedes since 2013. Mercedes won the Formula One Constructors’ Championship in 2014 and Lewis Hamilton drove the No.44 car home to take a Championship win with eleven 1st place finishes and, excepting retirements, was always on the podium.

Scalextric C2917 Ford GT40 Mk II, LeMans 1966 (C)

1/32 scale slot car, ready to run on all 1/32 and 1/24 scale non-digital tracks. Chassis XGT-2, a MKII GT40, was driven by one of the most famous F1 and sports car drivers of the era – Graham Hill. This model of the car pays tribute to the driving ace with a driver figure likeness of the man himself – complete with his trademark moustache.

Hill’s teammate was supposed to have been Dr. Dick Thompson, but he was disqualified by the French officials for an obscure infraction in practice. Ford suddenly had to scramble for a driver at the last minute and came up with Brian Muir. Muir had never raced at night, never driven anything remotely as fast as the Ford Mk. II, and had never raced at LeMans, but he was available, so he was duly deputized into the team for the event and performed well until the car expired.

What Fun We Had!

Greystone Concourse d’Elegance 2014

The 2014 Greystone Concours d’Elegance took place at the historic Greystone  Mansion in Beverly Hills on Sunday, May 4. This year celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Porsche Speedster and well as the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

The car show included  an awards ceremony and a fashion show. Food, drinks, and various auto  exhibits were present throughout the mansion grounds. The Greystone Mansion was also open for people to see its many rooms and history of the Doheny family who once lived there.

We had a great time introducing slot cars and slot car racing to some and rekindling the love affair for others. We had 100′s of cars on display and a great track set up for racers of all ages.

It was a great day all around!

Porsche’s brief time as a factory entrant in F1 culminated in its only race-winning car: the 1962 Porsche 804.

Yet shortly after Dan Gurney’s triumph in the 1962 French Grand Prix, the team cancelled its F1 programme, and has never returned to the sport as a full constructor.

New (old) manufacturer announces first release

Policar R01A Ferrari 312PB, Monza 1972

Policar R01A Ferrari 312PB, Monza 1972. Preorder now! – $59.99

The old Policar name is being revived with this car, which looks to us very much like the Slot It Ferrari 312PB under a new name and offered as an RTR instead of a kit.  Time will tell, but we suspect Slot It is farming out some of its older tooling to produce cars at a lower price point.  The info provided to us says the cars will have Slot It running gear and be made to Slot It standards.  So, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…

1/32 scale TransAm cars race at LeMay Museum

The LeMay America’s Car Museum scored a solid success with its firs organized slot car racing event, the ACM Miniature TransAm Challenge, on October 19 and 20.  A field of 28 Scalextric and Pioneer 1/32 scale TransAm cars competed in two classes with close, hard-fought battles in both classes.  Two 4-lane Scalextric Sport tracks, nearly equal in length but different in design, challenged the entrants with racing on two different track configurations as they rotated across the tracks’ 8 lanes.  With only limited practice drivers had to adapt quickly to track designs they had never seen before arriving at the event.

All the competitors came from the greater Puget Sound area except for one mail-in entrant, Arrold Martin of Nashville, Tennessee, who sent a Scalextric Mustang for each class and saw his efforts rewarded with a solid third place out of ten entries in the Modified class.

Close racing was the order of the day with five positions being decided by less than one lap after 40 minutes of racing in each class. The Modified class saw Jim Berg of Duvall, WA pull out a fairly comfortable 10-lap margin of victory over Brett Harrison of Everett, WA with mail-in racer Martin’s car taking third less than a lap behind Harrison.  In Stock the margin of victory was just over one lap with Ray Bishop edging out Craig Rieland for the win with the day’s biggest winner, Jim Berg, taking third,  Less than 3 laps covered the top 3 finishers.

Scalextric cars outnumbered Pioneer Mustangs 23 to 4.  All the Scalextrics were 69 Camaros or 69/70 Mustangs except for one Dodge Challenger and one 70 Camaro.  A number of unique liveries turned up among the factory pint schemes, making for a colorful field and not too many look-alike cars, though we noted that George Follmer was entered 3 times and Bill Maier twice.  Here are some of the custom-painted entries.

Bob Novack, Scalextric Mustang,  Stock class

Bob Novack, Scalextric 69 Camaro, Modified class

Craig Rieland, Scalextric Mustang, Modified class

Craig Rieland, Scalextric 69 Camaro, Stock class

Gerry Brott, Scalextric Dodge Challenger, Stock and Modified.  This was the only car in the race that was not a Mustang or a Camaro.

Roger Fossum, Pioneer Mustang, Stock class

Pat Clifton, Pioneer Mustang, Stock class

Brett Harrison, Scalextric 69 Camaro, Modified class

And what race would be complete without a car in primer?  This Scalextric Mustang was entered in the Modified class by Dallas Dixon.

The event received solid support from several sponsors who supplied prizes, essential equipment, and valuable assistance in organizing and conducting the racing.

Pioneer Models sent cars, including its last two unsold Bullitt Dodge Chargers in North America.  The Bullitt Chargers have become significant collectibles.

Hornby America sent several of its latest Scalextric cars including the two newest 1970 Camaros.

Innovative Hobby Supply provided an attractive selection of its decals, sign kits, chrome trim kits, and wheel inserts.

Griot’s Garage, a manufacturer and retailer of high-quality car care products and the museum’s official car care products provider, sent bottles of its wheel cleaner and Speed Shine.

Electric Dreams paid out cash prizes for top-3 finishes by cars carrying its decals.  The Electric Dream Team also put in many hours of time and effort in the organizing of the event.

Fantasy World’s Bonus Bucks, good for merchandise at its Lakewood, WA store, went to the top 8 finishers in each class.

Professor Motor  provided two essential elements of the event, the controllers used with the two Scalextric Sport tracks and the Maxxtrac M06X handout spec tires used by all the cars.

Two Scalextric Sport 4-lane tracks made up the layout for the race.  They functioned as one 8-lane layout, managed by a DS timing and scoring system.  Race director Alan Smith provided one of the tracks.  The other came from Lighthouse Christian Center, a church in Puyallup, WA that uses its track for various church events.

The museum rented folding office tables to make up the platform on which the tracks were set up.  The original design of the 2-track layout, done on track design software, took into account the various sizes of tables available, enabling the table arrangement to be planned as an integral part of the layout design. Both the track layout and the table arrangement were designed entirely on a computer.   The layout had never actually been built before the setup day for the event

Here you can see how the table arrangement was laid out to fit the track plan and provide turn marshal access.

The finished layout fit the tables with only very minor adjustments and worked well for racing.  The only significant problem turned out to be the concrete pillar, at the left of the photo above, that interfered more than expected with the sight lines of two of the drivers’ positions.  Those two driving positions had to be moved to the opposite corner of the layout using extender cables for the controller cords.  The two tracks, though different in configuration, were within 6 inches of being the same length.  With two different track designs and one track running clockwise and the other counterclockwise the drivers had to learn quickly in the limited amount of practice time available.

The tracks were laid out so that the start/finish lines were adjacent to each other about 2/3 of the way down the longest straightaway,  A line of borders in the middle provided space for the ends of the light bridges and also kept the cars on the two innermost lanes from sideswiping each other entering the side-by-side straights.

The museum’s guest services manager, Jeff Keys, expressed great satisfaction with the event, which was understood by all involved in its creation to be something of an experiment and learning experience.  Its success clears the way for more slot car racing at ACM.  There are plans for two events in 2014, one in April and the other in October.  The details of the April event will be announced as soon as the organizers analyze the lessons learned and incorporate them into the planning.  The eventual goal is to hold slot car races of national and world stature in keeping with ACM’s own stature as one of the premiere automobile museums in the US.  The events will have two central purposes.  One is simply to be a lot of fun for participants and for the museum visitors who will watch some part of the racing as they circulate through the area of the tracks on event days.  The other is to re-create in miniature specific race series and eras from the rich history of motorsports, celebrating automotive competition in all its many forms.   This first event has made a good start toward achieving those purposes.

An easy project with a big payoff

Ever since Monogram introduced its vintage NASCAR stock cars we have fielded questions from customers about how to overcome the shortcomings of the cars’ less-than-stellar chassis design.  Along with our responses we have often added the suggestion that the definitive fix for all the problems was simply to deep-six the entire Monogram running chassis and mount the body on a complete Pioneer chassis.   When this rather secondhand-looking Monogram Plymouth GTX made its way into our workshop we decided to do the chassis swap for this newsletter. We always thought in terms of using a stretched Mustang chassis, which requires some fabrication.  However, we discovered that Pioneer offers a much simpler and more elegant solution.  We also had a complete Pioneer Dodge Charger running chassis lying around.   When we test fitted it to the Monogram Plymouth body we discovered that all we had to do to make the body and the chassis a perfect fit for each other was to trim 3/32″ off the front edge of the chassis, cut off the Monogram body posts right at the inner surface of the body, and relocate them to match the mounting points on the chassis.  That was as simple as screwing the posts to the chassis, putting a drop of medium CA clue on the end of each, and setting the chassis into the body.  We put a rubber band around the car to hold body and chassis tightly together until the glue set.  Cutting and re-gluing the posts made them slightly shorter, and the body sat at just the right height on the chassis to give the car a perfect stance with no clearance problems anywhere.  We then swapped the Monogram wheels onto the new chassis, which required a slight shortening of the front axle for tire / fender clearance.  Here’s the final result…

Except for needing a bit of extra length at the rear you would think the chassis was made for the body.  In a way, it was, because the Plymouth GTX and the Dodge Charger were essentially the same car under the skin, and both Monogram and Pioneer modeled their cars’ dimensions more or less accurately.  Eagle-eyed readers may notice that the rear tires are Maxxtrac M10 silicone slicks, which came on the used GTX and add extra grip on our Scalextric Sport test track.  In addition to giving the car a more capable chassis this swap also makes it Scalextric digital plug-ready.

We are aware that the Monogram press-on plastic wheels leave a bit to be desired in the trueness and concentricity department, but we find that for home racing with magnets they work well enough.  Non-magnet racers may want to convert to the aftermarket wheels of their choice and turn down the Monogram wheels to serve as inserts.

This whole project took less than an hour and required only simple modeling tools to complete.  It is well within the skills of even beginners in the slot car hobby

Major slot car event coming in October

America’s Car Museum Presents the
ACM Miniature TransAm Challenge, October 18-19, 2013
A race event for 1/32 scale slot car racing models of classic TransAm cars, 1966-1972

America’s Car Museum, also known as the LeMay Museum, announced today that it will hold a race for 1/32 scale classic TransAm slot cars on October 18-19, 2013.  This will be the first in what is intended to become a series of slot car racing events that will cover a wide variety of slot cars modeling all the famous types and eras of life-sized automobile racing.  Jeffery Keys, ACM’s Guest Services Manager, says, “We’re excited about having slot car racing events here at the museum.  They represent a unique opportunity to recreate auto racing history in miniature and to pay homage to great cars and drivers past and present while providing a lot of fun for participants and spectators alike.”

The October event, to be called the ACM Miniature TransAm Challenge, will be run on two Scalextric Sport 4-lane slot car tracks to be set up for the event in an area adjacent to the museum’s Fun Zone, where its highly detailed Slotmods slot car track and its racing simulators are located.  The tracks will be controlled as one 8-lane track by an electronic timing and scoring system and each driver and car will race on each of the 8 lanes of the two tracks.

There will be two racing classes, Stock and Modified, providing two levels of challenge for slot car racers of all skill and experience levels.  The rules have been carefully crafted to offer plenty of scope for creativity and ingenuity while keeping the cost of competing well within the reach of all who are interested in entering.

Both in-person and mail-in entries will be accepted.  A local slot racing club has agreed to manage all the proxy entries from their arrival through the event until their return to their owners.

The Race Director for the event will be the well-known slot car racing competitor and businessman Alan Smith.  He is widely recognized as one of the top slot car race directors in the US.

Entry fee for the event will be $10 per car.  All entrants will be limited to one car in each class.  All in-person entrants will receive a pass good for admission to the museum for the entire weekend, allowing them to come back on Sunday, October 20, and spend the day exploring the museum’s 4 floors of historic car exhibits.

America’s Car Museum, located in Tacoma Washington, has been open just over one year and is already recognized as one of the premier automobile museums in America and the world. Its exhibits of carefully preserved and restored cars cover the panorama of automobile history from the first horseless carriages to today’s exotic supercars. For more information on ACM, visit the museum’s web site at http://www.lemaymuseum.org.

Additional Event Details
Tracks: 2 Scalextric Sport tracks, 4 lanes each, all controlled by one DS timing and scoring system and operating as one 8-lane track.
Track power: Aftermarket power supplies, 15v. (no shortage of amperage)
Controllers: Basic Professor Motor home/club racing controllers (no adjustments) will be installed on each lane and must be used by all competitors. Our thanks to Professor Motor for providing these controllers.
Classes:
Group 1 – Box-stock Trans Am
Eligible cars: 1/32 scale Scalextric 1969 Camaro, 1969/70 Mustang, 1970 Camaro; Pioneer 1967/68 Mustang notchback and Camaro. Scalextric Dodge Challenger and Mercury Cougar will also be eligible if they are available for sale to the public before September 15, 2013.
Spec rear tire: Maxxtrac X-compound. All cars must use the spec tire. A pair of these tires will be provided free of charge (courtesy of Professor Motor) to each entrant and will be installed on the car at initial tech inspection.
Allowable modifications:
Magnetic downforce: Cars will be weighed on a digital scale then placed on a Magnet Marshal. The difference between the scale reading and the Magnet Marshal reading may not exceed 220 grams.
Magnet may be shimmed to adjust magnetic downforce to a maximum of 220 grams. Magnet must be placed in the stock location immediately forward of the motor.
Body screws may be loosened for body float.
Braid may be replaced with braid of the same size but alternate material. (In other words, copper braid can be used on all cars.)
Cars may be repainted for easier identification and entrants are encouraged to do so to avoid having a field of look-alike cars. Repaints do not have to be painted as specific real cars but liveries should look period-appropriate. A car painted in a single overall color with racing numbers is all that is required to be period-appropriate.
NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS ARE ALLOWED!

Group 2 – Modified TransAm
Eligible cars: All Group 1 cars. In addition, 1/32 scale cars with period and series-correct injection molded or resin-cast bodies of cars raced in the TransAm series between 1966 and 1972 will be allowed. All cars must use the chassis of one of the Group-1-legal cars. The chassis may be lengthened or shortened to fit the body by making a single transverse cut and either adding or removing material. Chassis may also be lengthened by splicing together front and rear sections of two of an eligible chassis. See list of eligible bodies.  Front and rear wheel openings must be properly centered on the wheels.
Chassis, motor, and running gear:
All stock components from any of the Group 1-eligible cars may be freely substituted for each other. This means, for example, that a car can use a Pioneer chassis, a Scalextric motor, and a mix of Pioneer and Scalextric wheels, axles, and gears.
Spec rear tire: Maxxtrac X-compound. Cars must use the spec tire. This will be the same tire as for Group 1. A pair of these tires will be provided free of charge to each entrant and will be installed on the car at initial tech inspection.
Magnetic downforce specifications are the same as for Group 1 as described above.  Magnet must be placed on the upper surface of the chassis forward of the motor. Only one magnet may be used.
Any guide, braid, and lead wire may be used. Guide adapters, such as B-nova may be used.
Maximum track (distance between outer edges of wheels/tires) Front- 55mm, rear- 59mm.
Wheels/tires may be spaced outward to the above limits or to the maximum width allowed by the body, whichever is less.
Body screws may be loosened for body float.
Chassis perimeter may be trimmed but not extended (except by altering wheelbase as described above) to fit the body being used and/or to allow free body float.
NO OTHER COMPONENTS OR MODIFICATIONS ARE ALLOWED!
Body:
Any eligible body may be used on any eligible chassis. The stock body mounting points on the chassis must be used. The body’s mounting posts may be moved to fit.
Body screws may be loosened for body float. Bodies from cars that incorporate parts of the body into the chassis may have those parts cut from the chassis and attached to the body. Body parts may be cut from a chassis to allow fitting of an alternate body.
Body must cover wheels and tires completely when viewed from the top, including axle float.
Fenders and wheel openings may not be modified. Body can be raised on chassis but not lowered beyond a period-correct height. Any car deemed by the organizers to have its body sitting lower over the chassis than would have been seen on a TA car in the day will be required to add spacers to raise it to a period-correct height.
Full-depth interiors may be cut down into a tray interior or may be replaced by an injection-molded or resin-cast tray interior. Vacuum-formed interiors are not allowed.  All interiors must retain a roll bar/roll cage and an injection-molded or resin-cast racing driver figure with at least head, shoulders, arms, hands, and steering wheel.
Body must have windshield and rear window and any other period-correct windows in place. Vacuum-formed windows may be used only on resin-cast bodies.
Eligible body list: In addition to the bodies of all the Group 1 cars the following bodies will be allowed in Group 2.

  4. Each entrant will be limited to one car in each class. In case of a very high number of entries, the number of entries accepted for each of the two classes may be limited. All entries will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
  5. Because of time constraints there will be no qualifying. In each of the two class races, each entry will rotate across all 8 racing lanes. Starting lanes will be assigned by a random procedure, though race officials may place lookalike cars into the rotation to avoid having more than one on the track at a time as much as possible.  Lane rotation scheme TBA.
  6. Mail-in (proxy) entries will be accepted for this event. Racing of the mail-in entries will be managed by a local club that will receive cars, provide drivers, and return the cars to their owners. All mail-in cars will be inspected and track- tested before the race to ensure that they have arrived in good condition. The mailing address is TBA. Cars must be received no later than October 12, 2013.
  7. All entrants in the modified class will be required to fill out a spec sheet listing the components used in building their cars. This information will be published on the Internet, at an official location to be determined, where it will be available to the general public. The form will be provided on line so mail-in entrants can submit their completed spec sheets with their cars and on-site entrants can fill it out in advance.
  8. The two Scalextric Sport tracks for this event will be provided by 132 Slotcar (www.132slotcar.us) and by Lighthouse Christian Center of Puyallup, WA. Our thanks go to these two organizations for their participation in this event.

The Memorial Day weekend is here!

It’s the biggest racing weekend of the year with the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500, and the Coke 600 making a marathon of race watching for fans worldwide.  Enjoy the holiday and the racing!

But more important, please remember that Memorial Day is when we take time to remember and honor all those who serve and have served in our nation’s armed forces, especially those who have given their lives in defense of our country and of the free and civilized world.  Take time and make opportunities to thank the military people you know and their families for the sacrifices, big and small, they make daily so America can remain free and strong.  Remember that in the world today there are individuals, nations, and ideologies that want to drag us into a barbarian past and shackle us under despicable tyranny.  Our fighting men and women stand between America and her sworn enemies and, ever more so, between all that is good in the world and all that is utterly evil.  Honor them this day, especially, and every other day of the year as well.

Pioneer Models Update

We recently had an opportunity to communicate with Julian Birley, owner of Pioneer models.  He was able to fill us in on what is happening with the company.

About a year ago, Jules, as he is known in the slot car world, discovered that the contract factory in China that was producing his cars was behaving in a highly dishonest manner.  He pulled out his tooling, which took some doing because of chicanery on the part of the factory managers.  In cooperation with several other small slot car manufacturers he set about establishing his own factory in China.  That effort ran into problems almost from the start.  It proved impossible to find honest, reliable people in China to run the factory, and initial production of cars failed to get through to conclusion . Efforts to overcome the issues proved to be unsuccessful, even though Jules himself spent enormous amounts of time in China trying to turn things around.

Finally, around the end of last year, Jules was forced to make the decision to pull out of China entirely and move production to England.  At the time of our exchange of e-mails several shipping containers full of tooling and some at least partially completed cars were on the water between China and the UK and will have arrived there by now.  Jules is in the process of setting up a UK factory so he can get back into production.

Jules writes, “It’s going to be a monster task to get it all together so (several associates) and I are running around organizing a factory, some workers and machinery. I wish I could say it was fun but it’s not! Just hellish pressure. The plan is to have the product checked over, re-worked where necessary and available to ship mid–March. The whole story will unfold as we unload the containers. All production will be shifted to UK. Researching and designing new models? The Legends are half tooled. The MGB is ready to tool as is the Javelin and Cuda. The Mustang Tube-Frame is done bar the interior. We have plenty to do at the moment. Frankly, I’m somewhat shell-shocked by this whole episode but I have a positive attitude and my guys are up for the challenge.”

Pioneer’s US distribution and R&D arm confirms that it has been told it will be receiving new products, though no word has come through regarding exact timing or new runs of existing models.  There are also at least two cars, as yet unrevealed, that have been approved at the concept level and will be proceeding to design and production once the cars mentioned above are out onto the market. The entire Pioneer design and R&D staff is still intact and ready to move ahead with new projects as soon as possible.

The decision to move Pioneer slot car production is just a small part of a growing trend, known as “reshoring” that is seeing manufacturing being moved out of China and back to or closer to the home countries of companies large and small, including The US, the UK, and much of Europe.  In addition to problems such as those Jules had to cope with, China also is becoming less attractive to manufacturers due to rapidly rising wages and shipping costs, not to mention labor unrest and signs of growing political instability.  An increasing number of companies producing for the US market are moving production either back to the US or to just across the border in Mexico.  When all costs, including shipping, are factored in it actually costs no more, in some cases, to produce at home or next door rather than an ocean away, and companies find it much easier to keep proper control over costs and quality.  European companies are discovering much the same thing, though perhaps to a lesser extent.  China remains a manufacturing powerhouse, but its advantages continue to shrink as its drawbacks increase.  This means that slot car purchasers who avoid the “Made in China” label as a matter of principle will likely have more cars to choose from as time goes on.

Meanwhile, Pioneer Models is alive and moving ahead with its plans. The Electric Dream Team wishes Jules and his company all success going forward, and we will pass on to our readers further updates on Pioneer as we receive them.

New items in stock

Allslotcar GP001 All white Formula One car

Allslotcar GP001 All white Formula One car – $77.49

We have received our initial shipment of the Allslotcar product line.  Quantities are limited for now and not all parts are in stock, but we will be receiving more soon.  In addition, we have ordered fully assembled, painted, and decaled RTR F1 cars being built by the master modelers at Ostorero, the original designer of the Allslotcar generic F1 car.  They are available now for preorder.  We think some of the parts, and perhaps the complete Allslotcar running chassis, will be popular with scratchbuilders and kitbashers for many different projects.  You can see the parts at  http://www.electricdreams.com/Shop/slot-car-parts-allslotcar-parts-c-3_1236.html and the RTR cars at  http://www.electricdreams.com/Shop/slot-cars-allslotcar-rtr-formula-one-cars-c-168_1227.html.
