Carrera 30195 Passion of Speed set DIGITAL 132

Carrera 30195 Passion of Speed set

24.0-foot lap length, 10.0 x 5.6-foot area

Screaming powerhouses

The Carrera DIGITAL 132 ‘Passion of Speed’ set pits two genuine powerhouses against each other in the Ferrari 488 GT3 SF Corse No. 68 and the Porsche GT3 RSR ‘Manthey Racing’ No. 911. The 550PS/542.47 hp Ferrari 488 GT3 impresses with a Biturbo-V8 engine that does the Italian brand name proud. The racing rival is the Porsche GT3 RSR with a 6-cylinder boxer engine with 4-valve technology, and which was already on the start in 2016 for the 24h-race at the Nürburgring circuit. The Carrera racetrack is around 7.3-metre/23.95 ft. long to allow both cars to unfold every last horse of their power for some great overtaking actions. Who’ll be crossing the line first?

Slot It SICA36B Opel Calibra DTM/ITC 1996 winner—PRE-ORDER NOW!

Slot It SICA36B Opel Calibra DTM/ITC 1996 winner, driver Klaus Ludwing

The Opel Calibra V6 is a racing car designed to take part in the German DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft), the German Touring Car Championship that at the time was the technical pinnacle for touring cars. Racing was restricted to Class 1 (first division or D1) cars. The regulation mandated a maximum capacity of 2.5 liters and a maximum of 6 cylinders, derived from approved models and produced in at least 25,000 specimens. Rules also allowed dramatic changes to the car’s motor and chassis, provided that the body shape was maintained. Opel entered the last race of 1993 as a test for the real début, which took place the following year with a car which was ready to compete against Alfa Romeo and Mercedes. In 1996, when the championship had already changed its name to ITC, Opel managed to win both the driver’s and the constructor’s championship titles. This car reproduces the Team Zakspeed number 17 car with which Klaus Ludwig raced and won the Norisring race in 1996.

You can race one of the fastest and most highly-detailed 1/32 scale Slot.it cars that is available at a very special price for one week. No dealers, One to a customer.

Slot It SICA13C Jaguar XJR12, #35, LeMans 1991.

Motor: FC130.

Easy, low-cost performance increase for Slot It GTP/Gp. C cars racing with magnets on plastic track…

Install SIPT06 19x10mm silicone slicks (a pair of these comes as extra tires with most of these cars) and an SICN07 racing magnet. The tires slip onto the rear wheels and the magnet snaps into the chassis in place of the original magnet. These two simple changes make a huge difference in the handling of the car and produce much faster lap times.

Need more grip? Try these aftermarket tires! Supertires 1400, 1401, 1402. 1403, 1404, 1405

The Jaguar XJR12 is a sport-prototype racing car, born in 1990 to replace the XJR9.

This full-size car featured a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The engine was a V12 engine with two valves per cylinder. In 1990, displacement was 6 liters for the IMSA version and 7 liters in the Group C configuration; these values were increased in 1991, becoming 6.5 liters for the American version and 7.4 for the European one, whose weight was respectively 930 and 1000 kg. The XJR12 was employed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing in particular for the long distance races, such as Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans, as this car was very reliable and regular in race trim.

The car was a superb racer: in 1990, it finished 1st and 2nd in the Daytona and Le Mans 24 Hours races, and in 3rd place at Sebring. Later on, it finished in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place at Le Mans in 1991, and in 2nd at Daytona in 1992. Car #35, driven by Jones, Boesel, Feré finished 2nd at the 24h of Le Mans in 1991.

Upgrade the Scalextric C1362T American Classics Set (above) or bring your own Scalextric track up to Digital with to this C7042DC Upgrade Package. This incredible Powerbase allows you race either Scalextric Digital or by just pressing a button (and taping the lane changer flaps shut) to race two of any brand of analog car. The C7042DC “package” includes everything to upgrade your track—the Digital Plugs to convert the cars must be purchased separately. Save $80.00 on this package deal.

Scalextric C7042DC Digital 6-car conversion package

An ‘open-source’ output connection enables the enthusiast to connect the six car power base to a computer for additional functionality.

This new Powerbase can be used in Analogue or Digital power modes. This great feature allows the Powerbase to be used with standard 2-lane Scalextric circuits, using two cars only, or with Scalextric Digital layouts for 1-to-6 car action. All features are available in either mode.

Now the best of both worlds is offered – an all-in-one race control system for Analogue and Digital racing.

Requires the 15V Power Supply sold separately (P9303) and two Scalextric Digital throttles (C7002)—also sold separately). You will also want one or more C7036 Lane Changers. If you upgrading an existing Scalextric Digital track you will need the C7042 and the P9303 Power Supply but you can use your Scalextric Digital throttles (analog throttles will not operate the system).

NOTES:

  • If you want a complete Scalextric Digital track conversion you can purchase the C7042DC (note the “DC” on the part number and the special price) Package that includes the C7042, P9303 Power Supply, two C7002 throttles, PLUS one C7036 Lane Changer.
  • If you don’t want to tape the lane switch flaps shut when running analog, reverse the direction of the track. You also need two power supplies to run analog in both lanes.

The Digital Plugs to convert the cars must also be purchased separately—each car will require its own plug. Most Scalextric cars are Digital Plug Ready so a number C8515 Easyfit Digital Plug (for most cars) or C8516 Easyfit Digital Plug (for Scalextric Formula 1 cars) is a one-screw unplug/plug-in installation. For other brands the C7005 Digital Chip can be installed but the wire connections must be soldered. All three Digital Plugs (chips) also allow the car run on any brand of analog track (but not on other brands of digital).

Aircraft modelers call it “battle damage”. In the heat of a race, pit crews do some wondrous things, including changing-off the whole rear body clip. The new Sideways 512BB is a replica of the car that had its tail replaced with one from a car that had crashed earlier at Le Mans in 1980. Yes, there are only a few available.

The number 78 car crashed and destroyed its tail clip so its crew pulled the tail from the team’s number 79 car (that had crashed in the first hour) and duct-taped it onto number 78 so the 78 car could go on to finish 23rd overall.

Electric Dreams In Austin Texas with Shell Motorsport

What a week of festivities in Austin Texas surrounding the US Grand Prix. Billed as a Festival of Speed & Sound, the FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX brought more speed, more thrills, and more music than ever!

We got to play a small role in the festivities. We helped Shell Motorsport & Ferrari set up a replica COTA (Circuit of the Americas) track at a local Austin Area Shell station (naturally). Carlos Raphael, our top line Slot Car builder and repairer, was in Austin to set up the track and keep it running during the video segment below. Carlos and his wife (who got to see her first F1 race) enjoyed the race from the grandstand at turn 15.

This week’s collector car find. Only for one week. One to a customer. No dealers.

Scalextric C2642 Ferrari 330P4 Le Mans 1967, 3rd place (C)

1/32 scale slot car, ready to run on all 1/32 and 1/24 scale non-digital slot car tracks. With working headlights and taillights.

The 1967 24 Hours of LeMans shaped up to be the decisive battle between the forces of Ferrari and Ford. To open the season Ferrari’s 330P4 finished 1-2-3 at Daytona after Ford’s Mark IIs, upodated from their 1966 LeMans-winning form, fell out with identical transmission failures. Ford came back to win at Sebring with its new Mark IV. At LeMans the Fords dominated the early running but suffered a catastrophic multi-car crash during the night that took several of their top runners out of the race, giving Ferrari some hope of victory.. However, the Mark IV of Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt ran faultlessly for the entire race to take not only the overall win but the Index of Performance. Two Ferraris, the #21 car of Scarfiotti and Parkes (C2641) and the #24 car of Willy Mairesse and Jean Blaton (who raced under the nom de course of “Beurlys”) finished second and third, ahead of another Ford. This model, C2642, is the 3rd place P4

There are a few of these exquisite hand-made MMK replicas of the Ferrari TR 61 that won LeMans in 1961 and we have cut the price to make it easier for you to own the winning car.

MMK 45 Ferrari 250 TR61, 1961 LeMans winner

Complete painted, assembled, ready-to-run 1/32 scale slot car. This has to be one of the most beautiful and purposeful designs ever to come from Ferrari’s racing department. Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien drove this car to victory at LeMans in 1961, and another TR61 finished second for a total Ferrari triumph. MMK’s model captures the classic look of the original in 1:32 scale with plenty of detail. A must for any Ferrari enthusiast’s collection!

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A SMALL SLIT ON THE HOOD of the car for a small “windshield” like piece that DOES NOT COME with this item… It is in the photo but you will not get one with your car. You can easily make one from a 1/8 x 1/4-inch-piece of flat clear plastic—the big curved windshield does come with the model.

New Cars Coming Soon

The second car in the Scalextric 60th Anniversary Collection is coming in late June so you can pre-order it now.

Scalextric C3831A Anniversary Collection Car No.1 – 2010s, Bentley Continental GT3—PRE-ORDER NOW!

As Scalextric entered the second decade of the 21st century it has continued to bring technological advances to the slot racing arena. Following Digital has come ARC; a race management system that allows the user to wirelessly manage all elements of the ‘Scalextric race experience’ using Bluetooth technology via a tablet or smart device. ARC seamlessly merges the excitement of real-time slot racing, with the thrill of on screen gameplay.

The Bentley Continental GT3 is just one of many GT3 race cars now offered by Scalextric. Making its competitive debut at the 2013 Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi on 13th December 2013, many scoffed that a car the size of the Continental would be successful but it has proved to bean amazing car, powerful and well handling it is still one of the best cars in its class. The Abu Dhabi race would mark Bentleys return to motorsport ten years after its dominant win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003 and as of now the car continues to win in the Blancpain GT sprint and Endurance series, British GT, GT Cup and on many Scalextric layouts across the world.
