This car, owned by Gulf Oil executive Grady Davis, was the one that got Gulf started as a sponsor of Gt40s and other cars in international endurance racing. It finished 7th at Daytona in 1967, the highest-finishing Ford GT in that race, after all the factory-entered MkIIs retired or suffered major delays with transmission ptoblems.
